Lecture: Landscape Biographies

Dear Ubbo Emmians,

We would like to welcome you on the 17th of June at Café Soestdijk for the fourth lecture of our committee. We are excited to announce that this lecture will be given by Theo Spek.
Theo Spek is a professor of Landscape History at the Centre of Landscape Studies of the University of Groningen. He has more than thirty years of experience in Dutch and European landscape research and besides his university work he holds a number of board memberships and advisory positions in the fields op landscape research, landscape policy and landscape management.  The lecture will be on landscape biographies as a tool for interdisciplinary research and sustainable landscape development. In this lecture he will discuss what defines a cultural landscape and how these landscapes are to be researched and utilized in the future as we face many modern day issues like climate adaptation, sustainable agriculture and housing problems.

We would love to see you on the 17th at Café Soestdijk, where we will offer you a free drink. Walk in is at 19:00, the lecture starts at 19:30.
